Girl's Camp

On Friday night, we all sat around a campfire and had a blast! We were constantly running after Addie because she would run to the fire every chance she got! Ashley is one of the young women in our ward here, Addie loves her!
Hmmm, do we look tired and dirty? I think it's safe to say we felt just how we looked!

The day we left camp, the girls all recieved awards for being so dang cool! we had a small group this year, but they had such a blast! What a goofy bunch!

We're Alive!

So today I got back from girl's camp, and I have never been so happy to take a shower and see my bed! Adeline and I took the two hour trip over to Itasca state park over in Minnesota Friday afternoon, it was absolutely beautiful there! It was however, the longest two hours of my life! Adeline slept for about 40 minutes then decided she was going to scream and cry the remainder of the way--both ways! Fun! Just think of how fun it is going to be when we drive the 9 hours to Colstrip in August! I have also never been around soooo many bugs and nasty mosquitos, I think it's safe to say I had about 2 inches of repelent on us both and we STILL managed to get bit! It was a great trip though, very spiritual. It was great to see all these young women have such strong testimonies of christ and the church. I was so proud of my girls, like a proud mother! The scariest part was being in the middle of nowwhere with a tornado watch for the area! Talk about scary! The dark clouds hovered overhead and the trees looked like they were ready to topple over, turns out that a tornado did touch ground about 15 miles west of us! We were so lucky! Adeline had a pretty fun time, she made about 50 new friends! I don't think I had her with me a whole lot while we were there, someone was always stealing her! She didn't mind, neither did I! As fun as it was, it's always nice to come home--home sweet home!

4th of July downtown Grand Forks

We were excited to take Adeline to the petting zoo, but by the time we got there--her eyes were watering a ton and she kept rubbing them...and she had a runny nose. So.....we are wondering if she has some allergies. So, she only got to see them from afar!
Adeline was up so early the morning we were camping that she just conked out on the way home.

We just realized yesterday amid the celebration that Jake will be graduating in less than one month!!! We cannot believe how fast our time here has gone with Jake going to school. It's now all coming to an end and we have a whole new chapter awaiting us! scary, yet exciting!

Camping trip

Our First camping trip as a family of 3!

Thurday night, we went on our first camping trip as a family....it turned out to be a last minute thing-but fun nonetheless! We were worried how Adeline would do and sleep, but she actually just woke up once during the night a little scared to be in a new place. I think most of all she loved running around and seeing all the birds and squirrels. We had gotten a new spacious tent and a Coleman stove/grill, so we were dying to "play" with our new toys! We attempted to fish, but there must not be any fish bigger than 4 inches long! Thats the size of the little trout Jake caught, and it probably was the biggest one in the river! Adeline did not have a good experience with that fish, it freaked her out! Jake also caught a little frog for Addie, but she wasn't impressed! We did see a couple of woodpeckers, they were cool and colorful! Today we are going downtown for most of the day, there are a lot of things going on from a parade to food to a petting zoo! Of course lets not forget the fire works!
The Erhards (Kyler, Holly, and Brynlee) came to hang out with us at our campsite, it was fun watching the two girls run around!

Oh my gosh--Adeline LOVES corn on the cob! We tried to take this away from her.......BIG mistake! Talk about territorial! You would think she was a dog who was trying to hold on to her bone!

Here we are at University Splash Park! These things are life savers with these hot summers!

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

4th of July is just around the corner, this year Adeline will be able to enjoy the bright colors being displayed in the dark sky! however, I don't know if she will be fond of the loud noises though! This coming Monday, girls camp starts and goes through Saturday. I would love to be able to go for the whole week, but I would have no one to watch Adeline. So her and I will drive the 2 hours on Friday and stay one night. I can't wait to dress her in her tye dye onesie, she will match all the girls! This will be her first camping experience too, so I expect to have a sleepless night! I supppose one sleepless night wont' hurt and who knows--she may sleep great! We will miss daddy though!
